Rowett upbeat despite defeat
Burton caretaker manager Gary Rowett refused to be too downcast after his side's 7-1 drubbing at Bristol Rovers.
Albion's Football League survival was already secured before the emphatic defeat, which Pirates counterpart Mark McGhee admitted was a little harsh. Rowett said: "We had four great results in the previous games to ensure our place in the league for next season. The challenge was to see if we had it in us to continue that run with the pressure off and clearly that wasn't the case. "We could easily have been in front at half-time as we hit a post and our goalkeeper (Ross Atkins) will feel he should have saved (Mustapha) Carayol's shot. "But we lost our discipline in the second half and made some dreadful defensive mistakes. Rovers didn't have to do a lot for their goals, which was disappointing. "Our priority was League survival and we have achieved that so we will take this on the chin and move on."
