Cardiff appeal card

Cardiff City, 12:24, November 11, 2008

Cardiff have changed their mind over Darren Purse's sending off at the weekend and have decided to appeal.

Bluebirds boss Dave Jones had originally said their was no point in launching an appeal because clubs seldom get the decisions turned over, but he and chairman Peter Ridsdale have watched the video and have now changed their mind and lodged an appeal.

Purse was dismissed following an altercation with Lee Cook.

"I have talked it through with Dave Jones and we both agree we must appeal," Ridsdale told the Western Mail.

"Neither of us believe Darren deserved to be sent off. It was a challenge which had to be made and he had his eyes on the ball all the time."
