Cardiff eye loan star

Cardiff City, 13:33, November 4, 2008

Cardiff boss Dave Jones is looking to bring in a striker on loan in time to face QPR on Saturday at Loftus Road.

Cardiff are short in attack due to injuries to both Jay Bothroyd, who could be out until the new year, and Ross McCormack who hopes to be back in time to face Crystal Palace in two weeks time.

Jones is trying to find emergency replacements but has admitted finding affordable ones is difficult, as Premiership sides want too much money and Championship sides are reluctant to allow players join a rival.

Bolton's Ricardo Vaz Te appears to be high on Jones' list and the striker has pleaded with Trotters boss Gary Megson to either play him or let him leave on loan.
