Chopra deal close to completion.

Cardiff City, 12:00, November 6, 2008

Cardiff will pull off a coup by signing former striker Michael Chopra on a two month loan deal from Sunderland today.

Bluebirds chairman Peter Ridsdale has been in negotiations with Sunderland officials and an agreement has been reached which will see Chopra return to the club for a loan period which will encompass a nine game period until December 21st.

Cardiff had been desperate to land a new striker because of injuries to both Ross McCormack and Jay Bothroyd who will be out for at least three weeks.

Cardiff have been in touch with almost every Premiership club in an effort to land a new striker but they have struck gold with landing Chopra who should make his latest debut for club against QPR at the weekend.
