Carlisle boss Greg Abbott will be without loan striker Jake Jervis when they host Ipswich in the Capital One Cup second round.
Jervis, on loan from Birmingham, netted on his debut as the Cumbrians collected their first three points of the season with a 4-2 win over Portsmouth on Saturday.
But the 20-year-old is ineligible to feature in their cup campaign forcing Abbott to reshuffle his front line.
Fellow forward Danny Cadamarteri came off at the weekend after complaining of cramp, but his goalscoring replacement Paddy Madden is set to start.
Mark Beck may partner Madden if veteran striker Cadamarteri is unavailable, although his withdrawal was only a precaution.
Lee Miller is sidelined with an ankle injury and may miss the next four weeks while Rory Loy is still continuing his recovery from a broken leg.
