Carlisle manager Greg Abbott hailed his young guns after they shot down npower Championship side Ipswich in the Capital One Cup.

The Cumbrians finished the game with three 18-year-olds on the pitch and the goals which enabled them to snatch a dramatic 2-1 win were scored by teenagers, Mark Beck and David Symington. Beck levelled for Carlisle with a flashing header in the last minute of normal time and winger Symington grabbed the winner nine minutes into the first period of extra time. Abbott said: "Symington has no fear and you expect the unexpected with him. But he will learn to get more consistent and he's shown that he can come on and make an impact. "Beck made a significant contribution and David was a real handful with his power and pace and he has unbelievable shooting power. "With our guts and determination we probably deserved to come out winners. Sometimes the fans have got to be a bit patient. As these youngsters get older they will get more consistency."
