Celtic ace in Premier League link
Celtic, 08:50, December 28, 2009 ,
Reports suggest Everton and Aston Villa are both keen on luring Celtic's £8million-rated winger Aiden McGeady to England.
McGeady has been watched by several top Premier League clubs as his Bhoys form continues to attract admirers from south of the border.
Everton are now said to be leading the chase for the Republic of Ireland star and could be ready to ask if he is available in January while Villa, who's boss Martin O'Neill knows McGeady from his time at Parkhead, are also said to be keen.
Celtic boss Tony Mowbray does not want to lose the talented wide-man but is aware the lure of the Premier League may be hard to resist, although an initial loan deal could be in the offing.
Everton are strapped for cash so would not be able to afford the £8million asking price up front but a loan with a view to a full deal in the summer may be a possibility.
Villa, on the other hand, could probably afford the winger, although with Ashley Young and Stewart Downing already in place down the left for the midlanders a bid looks less likely from them at the minute.
