Celtic thwarted in striker hope
Celtic, 13:28, March 14, 2010 ,
Celtic have been told to forget any plans about making a permanent move for Spurs striker Robbie Keane beyond his current loan spell.
Tottenham first-team coach Joe Jordan has made it clear Keane still has a big role to play at White Hart Lane and wants him to come back next season raring to go.
The 29-year-old bagged a hat-trick for Celtic in yesterday's Active Nation Scottish Cup win over Kilmarnock and has now scored eight times since moving to the Glasgow giants in January.
Jordan told the Sunday Herald: "Without a doubt [Keane will return], he's the captain.
"Harry [Redknapp] brought him back here and he was a major player in getting us out of trouble last season, not just on the pitch, but in the dressing room as well.
"He was an influential guy, he's a leader, and there's not many of them going about. It wasn't just the player, it was the person we wanted."
