Falkirk striker's ref balst

Celtic, 11:14, August 25, 2008 ,

Falkirk striker Michael Higdon has slammed referee Iain Brines for failing to rule out a Celtic goal for handball.

Bhoys skipper Stephen McManus opened the scoring in the weekend's 3-0 win for the champions but Higdon has now spoken out and could be asked to explain his comments by the SFA.
He said: "Obviously the referees do bottle it because they keep making the same mistakes all the time.
"I was marking McManus at the corner and it was just a plain handball. It was obvious. I could have knocked the ref out to be honest.
"There wasn't a lot in the game at that point and we'd had chances, but they seem to get luck like that all the time."
Higdon added: "I was surprised that I didn't get booked to be honest because I kept having a go at him all the time. He didn't book me when I kicked the ball away, so that just shows how inconsistent that referee is."
