Celtic have been hit by the news Giorgios Samaras faces a month on the sidelines because of an arm injury suffered playing for Greece.
The 27-year-old striker suffered ligament damage in his left arm during his country's 2-1 World Cup qualifier win against Latvia on Friday night.
Samaras, who has been suffering with a back injury of late, was only brought on for 22 minutes as a second half substitute and he helped Fernando Santos' side to come from behind and seal an important win.
However Greece team doctors revealed that arm injury he picked up during his time on the pitch will rule him out of the home clash against Lithuania as he requires up to five weeks recovery time.
The news is a major blow for Hoops boss Neil Lennon as Samaras will also miss Celtic's opening Champions League games later this month.
