Hoops set for midfielder boost
Celtic,
Last updated:
Celtic star Victor Wanyama will reportedly snub any offers from English Premier League clubs to stay put at Parkhead this summer.
The Kenya international defensive midfielder has been heavily linked with a move south of the border as the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Swansea have all been credited with an interest in him.
And, while Hoops chief Neil Lennon appeared to be facing a real fight to keep Wanyama, who he signed from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot, it now appears he has been advised to stay with the SPL champions for at least another season.
A reported source was quoted by SuperSport.com saying: "Mugubi will be staying at Celtic as he would not like to rush in his career. He wants to build a solid place for himself at Celtic and is feeling comfortable. He is not worried about making more money as he clearly knows that will come at the appropriate time."
"He loves Celtic and this is the team he will be playing for next season."
