Celtic boss Neil Lennon admits he is interested in Rosenborg midfielder Markus Henriksen but is unsure if a deal can be reached.
Lennon is eager to get his summer transfer dealings underway as soon as possible in order to ensure the club are fully prepared for a potentially tough Champions League qualifier in August.
Norwegian midfielder Henriksen is a target for the Parkhead club, but Lennon has played down his side's chances of securing a quick deal for the Rosenborg man.
"We do like the player, but I do not know if we will be able to get a bid going in the next few days or not," Lennon told the Scotsman.
Celtic have already opened talks with keeper Fraser Forster and striker Gary Hooper over their respective futures and Lennon revealed he hopes to trim his squad to free up funds for "two or three" new signings before the start of the 2012/2013 season.
He added: "We will be trying to offload a few players in the summer and maybe add two or three. The club is in a good state at the minute, but we would like to bring two or three bits of quality in to add to that."
