Emilio Izaguirre insists joining Celtic is 'a dream come true' for him as he hopes to make his debut at Motherwell on Sunday.

Izaguirre, who featured in the World Cup for Honduras, missed out on a switch to Wigan this summer having also failed to secure a move to British football in 2008 when Ipswich failed to gain a work permit for him. However having finally managed to persuade Honduran outfit Motagua to release him, Izaguirre is relishing the chance of furthering his career with the Bhoys.
He said: "Coming to a club like Celtic is a dream come true at last for me.
"I will put the effort in during training every day and play each match here as if it's the last game of my life.
"There was a chance I could have joined Wigan, but it was only going to be possible if [existing left-back] Maynor Figueroa left and he didn't.
"It's true that when I was younger I went to Ipswich, but I couldn't get the work permit at that time."
He added: "Celtic showed a lot of interest in me and I'm delighted to be here. I think any player in the world would be happy to arrive at a club as big as this.
"I know the demands of playing for Celtic, that you have to win every game, but I'm ready for that.
"The Scottish game has a fast pace to it, but I think that will suit my own style of game. I feel fit enough to start on Sunday if the manager selects me."
