New boy in Hoops start bid

Celtic, 15:01, January 27, 2012

Rabiu Ibrahim aims to make his Celtic debut in Saturday's Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final against Falkirk at Hampden Park.

The 20-year-old Nigerian, who agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract last week, has had to wait to make his first-team bow until his work permit arrived at Parkhead earlier in the week. And, Ibrahim is now desperate to finally show why boss Neil Lennon snapped him up from PSV Eindhoven.
He said: "It depends on the coach. We haven't discussed that yet but the gaffer has been encouraging me in training and has made me feel at home.
"He has the final say but of course I am ready, that's why I am here. You always want to aim for the highest and to be the best player.
"My immediate goal is to play for Celtic and work hard for the team and try to win trophies. It was very unfortunate for me at PSV as my direct competitor for a place was the captain, Ola Toivonen, who is a great player and a very experienced international.
"However, I do believe with good guidance I will be given a chance here at Celtic to prove myself, which I believe I will."
Meanwhile defender Daniel Majstorovic has returned to training following the fractured cheekbone he suffered against St Johnstone last month and he will be available to face Falkirk.
Recent signing Mikael Lustig and winger Paddy McCourt are also back in training after their respective thigh and foot injuries and could feature, but Mo Bangura is still missing after a setback with his knee injury.
