Strike duo could miss Old Firm clash

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has concerns over his strike force ahead of the Old Firm clash with Rangers on Saturday.

Scott McDonald missed the game against Falkirk last weekend and could also be forced to sit out the tie with Rangers.
McDonald was the Bhoy's top scorer last season and Strachan could do with his most prolific striker on the field as they take on their fierce rivals.
To add to Strachan's injury woes Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was stretchered off after a heavy challenge by Falkirk defender Lee Bullen at the weekend and is also a doubt for the Old Firm.
Strachan remains optimistic that the pair will recover in time to face Rangers but it is unclear whether the two strikers will be in the starting line up.
"Scott's injury came as a surprise to us because he trained on Friday morning." said Strachan
"It's an abductor muscle and so he is going to have a look at that but he might be fit for next week. He's a strong lad so we will see how he is.
"Jan has a bad gash at the bottom of his leg, we will have to wait and see if there is any bone or ligament damage. We will find that out tomorrow."
