Celtic could be without Mikael Lustig for the start of the new SPL season if he requires an operation on a long-standing hip problem.
The Sweden international right-back is doubtful for his country's final Euro 2012 Group D clash against France on Tuesday due to concerns over his fitness. And, with the Swedes set to travel home this week having been eliminated, Lustig confirmed that he might have to go under the knife to try and repair a hip ailment. If he does require surgery then it will almost certainly rule him out of action for the start of the Hoops' new SPL campaign later this summer. Lustig, who has only played five times for Celtic since his arrival in January from Rosenborg, said in the Daily Record: "I have had problems with this hip for a while. Now I'll have to see if it needs an operation after the Euros."
