Adkins plans summer transfers

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins is lining up summer transfer targets after his side sealed promotion to the Premier League.

The Saints returned to the top-flight with an emphatic 4-0 win over Coventry on Saturday and are back in the Premier League for the first time in seven years.
But Adkins, who has taken them from League One to the Premier League in two seasons, says his squad must be strengthened if they are to survive in the top flight.
He told BBC Sport: "We are always looking at the evolution of the squad. Next season we will need a certain calibre of player. We are working diligently to find players who will improve us and who are better than the ones we have.
"It is natural evolution and we will work hard in the summer to improve the squad."
