Allardyce expects twists and turns
Sam Allardyce believes anything can happen on the final day of the season as West Ham aim to pip Southampton to promotion.
The Hammers go into tomorrow's home clash with Hull aware even victory may not be enough to secure a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The result would prove inconsequential should Southampton beat relegated Coventry at St Mary's while even a draw could be enough for Saints.
It has been a disappointing season for big-spending West Ham, despite being assured of third spot and a play-off place.
"Most of the pressure lies with Southampton on the day. They have really got more to lose than we have because our chances are slim," Allardyce told West Ham TV.
"Anything can happen. Under the pressures of a final game of the season when teams are trying to get promoted, there can be a twist and a turn along the way."
