Mick McCarthy is in Bolton for a job interview while Alan Curbishley has turned down an approach, according to reports.

McCarthy, 53, is reported to have arrived in Bolton for talks with club officials over becoming the Championship side's new manager after Owen Coyle was sacked on Tuesday. The former Wolves boss is thought to be among the leading candidates for Reebok Stadium vacancy but Molde's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also at the top of a shortlist drawn up by Bolton directors earlier this week. Solskjaer pulled out of a press conference for Leaders in Football due to what was officially described as 'illness' but the news only fuelled speculation over the Norweigan. The former Manchester United forward was in London for the talk but withdrew at the last minute, with Bolton chairman Phil Gartside also believed to be in the capital. Ex-West Ham boss Curbishley has meanwhile turned down the opportunity after being linked with a return to management with the Championship side on Wednesday.
