Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Liam Bridcutt has thanked manager Gus Poyet after being named the club's player of the season.
The 22-year has made 48 appearances for Poyet's side in all competitions and received over a third of the votes made by the Championship club's fans. He told BBC Sussex: "He's had a massive effect on my career and my game. "Since day one when I came here, he's always encouraged me and is always telling me things and I'm always learning. "He's a great guy and a great person to learn from." Bridcutt, a former Chelsea youth player, joined Brighton on a free transfer in 2010 and has since made 92 appearances for the club.
