Clarets chasing Bruce

Burnley manager Eddie Howe is reportedly interested in making a move for former Leeds United defender Alex Bruce.

The 27-year-old left Elland Road at the end of the season when his contract expired at the Yorkshire club and Clarets boss Howe is keen to bring him to Turf Moor. Bruce found himself out of favour at Leeds under former boss Simon Grayson, but under Neil Warnock he featured more regularly, making seven appearances from February. The former Birmingham City and Ipswich Town man is now keen to kick-start his career by fixing himself up at a new club where he will play more first-team football. Howe is looking to bolster his squad in the close season after his side finished in mid-table and failed to make the Championship play-offs.
