Diop urges Blues to stay calm

Birmingham midfielder Papa Bouba Diop has told his new team-mates there is plenty of time to get into the Championship promotion mix.

The 34-year-old this week completed his short-term deal at St Andrew's and immediately set his sights on helping his new side climb the table.
Birmingham sit just outside the relegation zone ahead of today's home clash with Leicester, a match which could see Diop take his place among the substitutes.
"There's a long way to go. It's a long season and we need to be strong and see that the season is nowhere near finished yet. Now it's 2012, and the season finishes in 2013," said the former West Ham man, who has not played competitive football since March.
"It's important that we remember that there is a long way to go."
