Gordon joins Blues on loan

Birmingham City have completed the loan signing of Chelsea left-back Ben Gordon until January 7th.

The 21-year-old spent all of last season out on loan, firstly with Scunthorpe United and then Kilmarnock, where he returned from north of the border with a Scottish League Cup winners medal. Last summer Gordon was part of England's Under-20 World Cup squad, and Birmingham boss Lee Clark is delighted to add the youngster to his ranks. Clark told the Birmingham Mail: "Ben is someone I have been monitoring over the course of the summer, he was high up on my list as a full-back who could challenge David Murphy. "Ben has come with a great pedigree from his time at Leeds United as a youngster; he's a modern day full-back who likes to get forward with pace."
