Barnsley boss Keith Hill is resigned to losing midfielder Jacob Butterfield after admitting the star is determined to leave Oakwell.
Butterfield has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs despite battling his way back from a cruciate knee ligament injury. The 21-year-old is out of contract and refuses to sign a new deal. "If we could sign Jacob Butterfield, it would be a marquee signing. But Jacob is exercising his rights and his options which any football player at this time of the year will do," said Hill. The blow of Butterfield's impending departure has been softened with news that winger Jim O'Brien has penned a new two-year deal. "But for injury last season he would have been outstanding. I'm really excited about the prospect of working with Jim for at least another two seasons," added the Barnsley chief.
