Cardiff boss Malky Mackay insists the club are continuing to search for players and says they have "irons in the fire".
Speaking after his side's first pre-season friendly defeat to Forest Green Rovers, the Bluebirds boss said he wants to get his transfer business done as quickly as possible, but admitted talks could go on right until next month's deadline.
"We are still looking at new signings," he told WalesOnline. "We are delighted to have the ones we have and now we have various irons in the fire in terms of the next month.
"I would like to get them in as quickly as possible, but I'm realistic to know that these things often go to August 31."
Cardiff, who start the Football League season in a Championship opener against Huddersfield Town on August 17, have already brought in Filip Kiss, Jordan Mutch, Etien Velikonja and Kim Bo-Kyung ahead of the new season and Mackay has said he wants at least two or three more signings.
