David Norris is determined to give the Pompey fans something to cheer in their final Championship game at Nottingham Forest tomorrow.
Portsmouth will begin preparations for life in the third tier following the game at the City Ground and Norris has called on the side to deliver a fitting performance for their loyal followers.
"The club and fans deserve so much better. It would be nice to go out with a win for them. They are going to travel there in their thousands, as they always do," said the midfielder.
"It would be nice to show our appreciation with a win and get three points for them. It would be nice to be able to give them some hope over the summer."
Defeat at home to Derby last weekend confirmed Portsmouth's relegation after a tumultuous season. The club's financial problems should see wholesale changes in the summer.
