Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen insists he wants to remain at Ewood Park and prove the doubters wrong.

The Norwegian marked his eight-year anniversary at the club with the winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 home victory over pre-season promotion favourites Leicester. The 30-year-old celebrated by running over to the dugout and grabbing a walking stick, a firm response to the criticism levelled at him from global advisor Shebby Singh, who suggested the player was past his best. "I said earlier I am committed to Blackburn. I was one of the first people to say this," said Pedersen. "It is not always up to what you say, though. I am happy here - it is not always you see a footballer stay at a club so long. I have had offers to leave before but I have stayed. "I can't control what people are saying. If I have a problem with someone, I will go and see them and sort it that way."
