Derby County chief executive Tom Glick says the club have rejected a second offer for defender Jason Shackell.
The latest offer is believed to be an improvement on a £1m proposal last month but Glick says the bidding club are nowhere near the Rams' valuation of the player who came runner-up in the Derby fans Player of the Season vote this season.
"We felt it was nowhere near where it would need to be for us to give it serious consideration," Glick told the Derby Telegraph.
Burnley are the club thought to be interested in former Norwich, Wolves and Barnsley defender Shackell, although Glick has admitted there are other clubs taking a serious look at him and concedes if the right offer is made, the club may have to consider their options.
"We're not surprised about this as he had a great season for us and is a key player for us, in a key position," he said.
"If a club was to come back with an increased valuation, we would take a look at it on its merit.
"Then, if we felt it did meet out valuation of the player, we would only sell if we had a suitable replacement lined up."
