Versatile Portsmouth defender Joel Ward could be on his way out of the club, according to manager Michael Appleton.
Appleton says there are clubs queuing up to buy the 22-year-old who is showing good signs of recovery following his recent hernia operation.
He told The News: "He had his op but I've seen him and he's walking about fine.
"The operation is straightforward. It's one about 75 per cent of players have in their career.
"Most players have a hernia at some point in their career.
"I would be very surprised if he's not the next one to move on."
Ward could be one of many players leaving Fratton Park this summer following the club's relegation to League One and would not be the first to jump ship with Jason Pearce sealing his £500k move to Leeds on Friday.
