Warnock explains Clayton decision
Leeds boss Neil Warnock says he had no choice but to transfer list Adam Clayton after failing to agree a new deal with the midfielder.
Clayton has been one of the Elland Road club's best players this season and Warnock's decision has not gone down well with the passionate Leeds support. However, the veteran manager has stood by his call and says he'd prefer to let the former Manchester City man leave in the summer as the two sides are unlikely to agree a new deal. "Adam has done quite well since I have been here," Warnock told Sky Sports News. "I just feel we need a change in certain directions and when I talked to his representatives I think it was clear that we were not going to get near the ball park, where they want to be on the wages side."
