Wolves say they're hopeful of completing a deal for Norwegian international defender Vadim Demidov in the next few days.
The Black Country side say they have agreed a fee for the player with his current club Real Sociedad and he has now flown to England to undergo a medical.
German team Eintracht Frankfurt are also said to be interested in his services but Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey remains hopeful his club can win the race for the 25-year-old.
"It's still ongoing at the moment," Moxey told the Express & Star. "Hopefully we'll have something to say in the next 24 to 48 hours, but it's not as clear-cut as some people would like it to be.
"There's interest in him from other clubs and we're looking at other targets as well."
