Boss forced to play a waiting game

Charlton Athletic, 14:09, January 21, 2010 ,

Charlton are getting nowhere fast in their attempts to extend Akpo Sodje's loan from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Addicks were keen for the striker to return to The Valley after he impressed manager Phil Parkinson during his two month stint with the club before Christmas.
Injury restricted his opportunities with the League One side, although he did score twice during his two starts with the Londoners.
However, Wednesday's recent changes of management, with Alan Irvine coming in to replace Brian Laws, has thrown a spanner in the works and he first wants to assess every players at his disposal before making any decisions on individuals' future.
The Addicks boss knows only too well that time is running out to do a deal with the transfer window closing in just nine days.
Parkinson told the South London Press, "It has not moved any further on in the last week."
Sodje came off the bench for the Owls during their 2-1 win over Barnsley at the weekend, and he was an unused substitute in midweek as they won at Blackpool.
