Parkinson looks to stake claim
Charlton Athletic, 16:15, November 25, 2008 ,
Phil Parkinson has spoken of his desire to be the next manager of Charlton following the departure of Alan Pardew.
Parkinson, who was Pardew's number two at The Valley, has been in charge of Colchester United and Hull City in the past and is itching to get back in the hot seat.
The Addicks are beginning the search for Pardew's replacement and Parkinson hopes to be in the running although for now he is just focusing on the job in hand.
"I think once you have had a taste of management, you miss it," Parkinson revealed. "I have enjoyed working at Charlton but I am ambitious and whether it is here or somewhere else, I feel I want to be a manager again.
"I am ready to be a manager again and I see myself as a manager but it is not about me, it is about Charlton Athletic Football Club and getting this season back on track and that is what we have all got to do."
