Chris Powell could hand debuts to three players when Charlton host Leyton Orient in the Capital One Cup.
Summer signings Jordan Cook, Lawrie Wilson and Salim Kerkar could all make a first competitive bow for the Addicks. Former Sunderland striker Cook will be fighting for a place alongside last season's top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips. Kerkar may slot into midfield whilst former Stevenage defender Wilson is pushing for a place in the back four. Powell is without the services of veteran utility man Andy Hughes as he struggles with an Achilles problem. Young goalkeeper Nick Pope is also ruled out after undergoing a knee operation during the summer. He is expected to return to training in four to six weeks should he suffer no further setbacks.
