Manager Chris Powell put one over on his 'mentor' as npower Championship new boys Charlton beat promotion favourites Leicester 2-1.
Powell was given his first coaching role by Nigel Pearson with the Foxes before he took over at The Valley 18 months ago.
And goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Yann Kermorgant secured Charlton's first win of the season against his old club and the man who has been the biggest influence on his fledgling managerial career.
"It wasn't me versus Nigel, it was Charlton versus Leicester," Powell said.
"I take satisfaction from winning the game. It was a terrific game, end to end, we were clinical in the first half and they were in the ascendancy in the second.
"They put us on the back foot and could have snatched a draw but we threw our bodies in the way."
