Agent denies defender move

Chelsea's hopes of signing Brazilian ace Maicon appear to be over after the player's agent revealed he will stay at Inter Milan.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for Maicon as Carlo Ancelloti targets a new right-back but it seems as though Inter have no intention of letting him go.

The defender's agent Antonio Caliendo believes the transfer saga is over and his client will at least see out his contract that runs until 2013.

"Above everything, the wish of the player is to remain at Inter," said Caliendo to Gazzetta dello Sport. "(Inter president Massimo) Moratti and coach (Jose) Mourinho are aware they have the strongest full-back in the world.

"I truly believe that this saga is over."
