Blues ace out to make history
Juan Mata claims Chelsea are more determined than ever to win the Champions League because they won't finish this term in the top four.
The Spaniard playmaker believes success in Europe's most prestigious club competition would go some way towards making up for the disappointment of what by their standards has been a poor effort in the Premier League. Mata and his team-mates have the opportunity to be pick up the prize that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has been craving for years, when they take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena next Saturday. A victory against the German giants would also see Chelsea competing in the competition again next season by virtue of being the defending champions. Mata told the Press Association Sport: "We want to win for the club, and for us, because we can make history for Chelsea. "But, as well, it's important to play in the Champions League next year. Chelsea always want to be in the Champions League. "It hasn't been an easy season for us in the Premier League, but we won the FA Cup, and we have the chance now to win the Champions League as well. So, if we win both, it will be an amazing season for us."
