Blues' Barkley swoop and loan offer mooted

Chelsea are reportedly set to offer Everton £20million for teenage starlet Ross Barkley in January and will then loan him back to them.
It seems Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has been given the green light by owner Roman Abramovich to splash the cash on the highly-rated 17-year-old midfielder to beat the likes of Manchester City and United to the punch for his signature.
Toffees' boss David Moyes has already stressed that he has no intention of allowing Barkley to leave, although with £20million and the chance to keep him at Goodison Park for an 18-month loan deal might sway him.
It would mean the Scot still has one of his bright young talents on board and a huge kitty to try and bolster his squad in the January window if he did sell to Chelsea.
