Blues boss handed transfer kitty

Chelsea, 17:15, July 29, 2010 ,

Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay says Carlo Ancelotti will have money to spend should he want to sign anymore players.

So far the Blues have only brought in experienced midfielder Yossi Benayoun and young defender Tomas Kalas, opting not to spend big bucks like they have during previous summers.
Chelsea have been linked with the likes of David Luiz, Ramires and Fernando Torres but have so far made no moves to sign any of the trio.
While the Blues are consciously trying to cut costs Gourlay has stated that Ancelotti will have money to spend should he find a player he feels will benefit the side.
"If Carlo wants to bring a player or two into the squad then we will look at that," said Gourlay. "It has to be the right player to fit into the squad and obviously at the right price. If these things all come together then fine, we'll strengthen the squad. But only if Carlo feels it's necessary."
