Blues sign City ace

Chelsea, 14:04, June 24, 2009 ,

Chelsea have won the race to sign Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City but the fee will have to be decided by a tribunal.

The Blues have fought off competition from Aston Villa to land the 19-year-old striker, who is due to fall out of contract at Eastlands at the end of the month, but the fee has yet to be decided.
Chelsea offered City £3million in compensation but Mark Hughes' men are holding out for closer to £10million and the fee will now be sorted out by a tribunal.
Sturridge turned down the offer of a new deal at City after reports claimed he asked for £55,000 a week, demands Hughes was not willing to match.
