Cole eyes Liverpool visit

Chelsea, 11:47, October 18, 2008

Chelsea hope to have Ashley Cole back for the visit of Liverpool next Sunday, club doctor Bryan English has revealed.

The left-back missed England's World Cup qualifying win in Belarus on Wednesday because of a hamstring tear, but has a chance of making the Stamford Bridge showdown against fellow title-chasers Liverpool.

"Ashley has sustained about a five centimetre tear to the hamstring so not insignificant," English told the official club website.

"It is unusual for him because he is an extremely fit player when it comes to muscle injuries over the years.

"It is rare for him to suffer this kind of problem, however he has had one or two very minor back issues over the last months so we have got time to address those issues as well. We will aim to have him back for the Liverpool game next weekend."
