Cole hope for Cyprus trip

Chelsea, 15:47, September 27, 2009

Carlo Ancelotti is confident Ashley Cole will be fit to play against Apoel Nicosia despite picking up a knee injury at Wigan yesterday.

The England defender failed to finish the game and was off the field when Paul Scharner scored the home side's third goal in stoppage time during the Blues shock 3-1 defeat.
Ancelotti said: "We will have to wait and see what happens. Ashley will be monitored over the next few days after getting a knock on his knee. I do not think it is a big problem for him."
The Chelsea manager is also be sweating on the fitness of Michael Ballack (calf) and John Obi Mikel (ankle) ahead of that European game in Cyprus on Wednesday.
