Defender linked with Nou Camp

Barcelona are showing an interest in Chelsea defender David Luiz and could make a bid if they miss out on other targets.

New Barca boss Tito Vilanova is keen to strengthen his defence this summer and has identified Athletic Bilbao defender Javi Martinez as his number one target. However if he fails to lure the defender to the Nou Camp reports claim he could turn his attention's to Luiz, while Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen and Manchester City star Vincent Kompany have also been linked. However any offer for Luiz is likely to fall on deaf ears as Chelsea will not entertain the idea of letting him move on at any price. The Brazilian will be a key figure for Chelsea next season and is firmly in the plans of Roberto Di Matteo.
