Drogba in future admission

Chelsea, 11:07, December 30, 2008

Didier Drogba has promised to provide some "surprises" in 2009 on his now uncertain future with Premier League title-chasers Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast international remains a top target for former Stamford Bridge manager Jose Mourinho at Internazionale and speculation over the festive period has led to suggestions that his days in west London are coming to an end.

Drogba has raised the prospect of leaving by promising to bow out on a high but he has also suggested he could stay if Chelsea win the Champions League.

He said: "I have only one year left on my contract, so I am going to go with the flow.

"I could be wrong but I feel that in 2009 beautiful things will happen. There will also be surprises.

"But I won't say more. If I start to speak about my future, I might say the wrong thing and that will come back to haunt me.

"Am I at the right place for 2009? Only time will tell. If we win the Champions League in May, the answer will be obvious."
