Falcao appears to open Chelsea door

Chelsea, Latest news update:

Top target Radamel Falcao has further stoked the talk he will join Chelsea in January by saying he admires the club's ambition.

The Atletico Madrid forward has long been linked with the west Londoners and the speculation has been ramped up in recent weeks as the opening of the January transfer window moves closer.
Some reports suggest Chelsea have already begun negotiations over a deal - with the Colombia international believed to have a release clause in the region of £45m - and hope to sign him in the new year.
He has now added to the talk a move to Stamford Bridge is imminent by saying he would enjoy the challenge of the Premier League and praised Chelsea.
"I would not be worried about the physical aspect of the Premier League," he said. "I have scored goals in Argentina, Portugal and now Spain. I am confident I can adapt my game to any league. I would welcome the challenge of the Premier League.
"I have watched the Premier League for a long time. There is so much quality and it is such an exciting league. Of course it is nice to think I might play in it."
Specifically on Chelsea, the striker, who has scored a highly impressive 13 goals in 11 games for Atletico this season, added: "Chelsea are champions of Europe and there is not much more to say than that.
"Even after winning the Champions League they still go and sign players of the highest quality. Their ambition is clear."
If Chelsea's bid for the forward comes off, Chelsea could attempt to lower the fee by offering former Atletico hero Fernando Torres back to the club where he made his name as it is unlikely boss Roberto Di Matteo could accommodate both men in his plans.
