Marko Marin hopes he has shown enough in midweek to prove that he is worth a place in the squad to face Arsenal on Saturday.

The German international came on as a second-half substitute against Wolves in midweek, as the Blues progressed in the Capital One Cup with a 6-0 win over Wolves. Marin has struggled with a hamstring problem since joining Chelsea in the summer from Werder Bremen, but he is now back to full fitness and has his sights set on a regular first-team berth. The 23-year-old only played 20 minutes in midweek, but he feels that prove he is ready if called upon by Roberto Di Matteo for a more significant role in Saturday's big clash at the Emirates. Marin told the club's website: "Of course it's not nice, for any player, there is never a good situation to be injured but now I feel good and can forget that time, it's in the past and I look to the future. "Of course I want to play as much as possible and now I am nearly 100 per cent fit again, it makes me happy and I want to play. The injury is done."
