Frank Lampard says it is down to Chelsea to open talks over a new deal and admits he does not know what the future holds.

Lampard has just one-year remaining on his current deal and in an ideal world he would like to pen a new one but at the age of 34 it remains to be seen whether that will be the case. The midfielder will not be short on offers if Chelsea do decide to let him go and he could follow David Beckham to America, while clubs in China could offer him one final pay day. However Lampard says he is just focusing on the new season for now and will wait for Chelsea to begin talks. "I am not sure [about a future in MLS]," Lampard told reporters. "I have another year on my contract at Chelsea and we have a big season ahead of us with the Super Cup and the Club World Cup in December. "It's up to Chelsea to speak with me about my future and at that time, I'll speak with them. I wouldn't rule anything out at the moment."
