Malouda - Trio can make big difference

Florent Malouda has admitted Chelsea have been affected by injuries to key men John Terry, Frank Lampard and Michael Essien this term.

The Blues' title challenge has stuttered badly in the past six weeks and they now trail leaders Manchester United by three points having also played a game more.
Terry, Lampard and Essien are now all fit again and all three would have featured against United on Sunday but the match fell foul to the snowy weather in London.
Malouda believes the trio's absence has been a factor in their struggles recently and is pleased to have them back available.
"The fact that we have had John, Frank and Michael out is maybe one of the reasons why we have struggled," Malouda told the Mirror.
"We have had a lot of injuries. It's not an excuse, but it can explain what has happened. It has been difficult for the manager to pick a team.
"But even when you know that, you still have to go out and play like champions. We are still the champions."
