Paris Saint Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has denied rumours suggesting he is in the hunt to sign Chelsea defender John Terry.

The duo had a good relationship during Ancelotti's time in charge at Stamford Bridge and reports had claimed that the Italian was lining up a swoop to take him to Paris. The big-spending French outfit have money to burn and speculation suggested they would pay Chelsea £8million for the 31-year-old and offer him a bumper contract. Ancelotti admits he wants a new central defender for next season's domestic and Champions League campaign, but says Terry is not on his list of targets. "We are looking for a central defender. The club is in contact with some players, but not John Terry," Ancelotti said. "Last year, we ranked second. This year, we clearly want to be champions. There's also the Champions League, which will be as important as Ligue 1. But I think it will be easier to win the league."
