Chelsea are ready to make a £35million swoop on Real Madrid to sign Gonzalo Higuain as a replacement for Didier Drogba.

Roman Abramovich is planning big changes in the summer no matter who is in charge and a top quality striker is top of his shopping list as Drogba heads for the exit door.
Despite his outstanding performances in helping Chelsea to the Champions League Final, Drogba is not expected to sign a new contract and looks set to finish his playing days with Nicolas Anelka in China.
Abramovich is happy to let him go and according to a 'top Chelsea source' he will bring in Higuain, who has bagged 25 goals for Real this season, as a replacement.
"Higuain is top of the shopping list," the source has been quoted as saying in the Sun. "He has a phenomenal goalscoring record for Real and for Argentina but he helps make lots of goals too.
"He would be perfect for us, the sort of player who would thrive in the Premier League."
Real are reluctant to do a deal but the Sun also claim they will try and land Sergio Aguero from Manchester City and will sanction Higuain's departure if they can pull that off.
